Strengths and weakness of quantitative research

strength it is objective more reliable and valid use of statistical techniques facilitate sophisticated analysis of data the numerical data can be analysed in quick and easy way quantitative research are replicable quantitative experiment are useful for testing the result weaknesses quantitative research requires a large number of respondents. it is assumed that the larger the sample is the more accurate the results reflect the characteristics of research population it is costly this is due to the fact that it need more respondents as compared to qualitative research contextual factors to help interpret the results or to explain variation are usually ignored much information are difficult to gather using structured research instruments RELATED POSTS 9 CONDITIONS FAVOURING IRRIGATION FARMING IN EGYPT 5 CAUSES OF RURAL-RURAL MIGRATION IN KENYA 10 AIMS OF KILOMBERO VALLEY IRRIGATION SCHEME 4 FEATURES OF MAP STATEMENT SCALE 10 ADVANTAGES OF OIL PRODUCTION IN THE MIDDLE EAST 7 DISADV...

It includes generalization and formulation of principles or theories. The fundamental research is sometimes carried on in a laboratory or other sterile environment, sometimes with animals. This type of research has no immediate or planned applications, may later result in further research of an applied nature. Characteristics of basic research are: It is conducted in a specific area for example in the laboratory. It takes a long time to conduct as it involves the investigation of a particular problem.   It uses animals as study samples   It is done for the aim of gener...
