  Nairobi is the largest urban centre in East Africa and the capital city of Kenya. The name Nairobi is derived from a Maasai name, enkare Nairobi, meaning something very cold I reference to the cool waters of Nairobi River.   The town began as a farming post in 1930 by a group of white settlers who had arrived in Uasin Gishu in 1908.
